Park Min Young Transforms Into A Fangirl In New tvN Drama
Fans of South Korean actress Park Min Young, rejoice! The 32-year-old Hallyu star is being courted to headline tvN's new romantic-comedy television series tentatively titled "Her Private Life."
On Wednesday, Dec. 5, her management agency Namoo Actors revealed that Park Min Young had been offered to play the lead female role in the new tvN drama, "Her Private Life," which is based on the web novel "Noona Paen Datkom" by Kim Sung Yeon. Currently, she is considering the offer.
"Park Min Young received an offer for 'Her Private Life,'" a representative from the actress' management agency Namoo Actors said in a press statement obtained by All Kpop. "[She] is in the stages of reviewing the script."
If she accepts it, Park Min Young will transform into a senior museum curator, Sung Duk Mi, who is also an avid fan of a K-pop idol group. Her life suddenly turns upside down with the arrival of the museum's new director named Ryan Gold.
"Her Private Life" will air sometime in 2019 on cable network tvN. More in-depth details about the new drama series will be revealed soon.
The casting news came nearly five months after Park Min Young wrapped up her first romantic comedy-drama, "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?." In the drama, she played a highly skilled secretary, Kim Mi So, who suddenly resigned from her position after working for the company's vice-president Lee Young Joon (Park Seo Joon) for nine years.
"What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?," which aired on tvN from June to July for 16 episodes, is one of the highest rated Korean dramas in cable television history. The finale episode, which featured the grand wedding of Kim Mi So and Lee Young Joon, garnered a national TV rating of 8.6 percent with a peak at 10. 1 percent.
Hence, Park Min Young said (via Soompi) she felt so grateful that her efforts were being recognized. She also thanked everyone who watched and supported the romantic-comedy series since it premiered.
Also starring in "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?" are Lee Tae Hwan as Lee Sung Yeon (also known as Morpheus), Kang Ki Young as Director Park Yoo Sik, Hwang Chan Sung as Go Gwi Nam, Pyo Ye Jin as Secretary Kim Ji A, Kim Ye Won as Secretary Sul Ma Eum, Hwang Bo Ra as Bong Se Ra, Lee Yoo Joon as Jung Chi In, Lee Jung Min as Lee Young Ok, Kim Jung Woon as Park Joon Hwan, and Kang Hong Suk as Yang Cheol.
