Disney and Marvel are planning to launch a new TV show centered on the character of Loki, Thor's mischievous brother. There is a plan to run this series on Disney+, the Mouse House's upcoming streaming platform.

In November, Disney confirmed that Tom Hiddleston would be part of the still-untitled Loki TV show. After all, he has been playing the character since 2011 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Despite his villainous side and his penchant for putting his big brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in a conundrum, Loki is big fan favorite.

The actor also hinted in a Twitter post that there would be more stories to come for his character as the God of Mischief. However, the confirmations from both Disney and Hiddleston did not reveal anything else except that a Loki TV series was under development.

But a recent rumor has revealed that Hiddleston's participation in the upcoming series won't be that of a lead star. A post from That Hashtag Show's Charles Murphy stated that the actor would serve as the series narrator. A different actor will instead be taking on the role of Loki since the show will focus on the character's younger years. But casting announcements are non-existent so far since this production still has no writer on board.

Meanwhile, Disney and Marvel are also developing a TV series about two other MCU characters. Development for "The Vision and Scarlet Witch" is finally rolling as the studios have hired writer Jac Shaeffer to be the showrunner.

Schaeffer has a good relationship with both studios. She has written the screenplay for two upcoming MCU films -- "Captain Marvel" with Brie Larson, which will be in theaters in March, and "Black Widow" with Scarlett Johansson, which has yet to begin shooting.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen are going to reprise their roles as Vision and Scarlet Witch for the series. So, unlike the Loki show, this will not be a completely different production from what fans have known of the characters.

But aside from Loki and "The Vision and Scarlet Witch," Disney and Marvel are also planning a Falcon and Winter Soldiers series with actors Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. "Empire" scribe Malcolm Spellman will be writing this TV show.

Disney and Marvel are doubling up on their content for the streaming platform, which is set to launch in late 2019. If all these shows come together without any hitches, fans can expect the series to debut beginning 2020.
