Better Call Saul confirmed it had renewed fifth season at AMC and Netflix. Before the fourth season premiered, it has been already confirmed there will be Better Call Saul season 5. AMC announced back in July at the San Diego Comic-Con.

At the moment, the release date of Better Call Saul season 5 has not yet been announced, but Express reported the next season would likely be slated for a summer 2019 release. The early renewal hints the production of the fifth season was already underway, so fans can expect Better Call Saul season 5 to come out this coming August, but still, there's no guarantee.

Better Call Saul was first released in 2015, and it has debuted a new season each year, so it's safe to assume the fifth season will premiere at some point in 2019. The first two seasons of the show premiered in February of their respective years, while season three aired in April 2017 and the season four premiered in August 2018.

Although there's no further information regarding Better Call Saul season 5 release date, the ending of the fourth season provided fans and viewers with a lot to unpack (contains Better Call Saul season 4, episode 10: 'Winner' spoilers).

The finale of season four shows how Jimmy McGill (played by Bob Odenkirk) tells Kim (Rhea Seehorn) he will be practicing law under a new name, so season five will likely deliver us Saul Goodman as we know him from the Breaking Bad era. Fans assumed Jimmy and Kim's relationship would come to an end because of this outing. Their relationship will be more interesting as it heads towards its inevitably heartbreaking resolution.

Also, Lalo may also play a big role in season five as his brief appearances in season four hints something big will happen in the future.

Showrunner Peter Gould also talked about Better Call Saul season 5, noting Jimmy and Mike's (Jonathan Banks) worlds will "converge," while he predicts some trouble about Kim's future. He said Kim might likely lose her future or even her life as Jimmy will enter the same world of violence Mike has been living in.

Gould said he's very sorry if ever something terrible will happen to Kim. He added there a lot of things may happen to people that don't involve violent deaths.

"It gives us a world of possibilities in a show where a lot of the character's fates are known already," Gould noted.
