Motorola News & Update: Motorola Razr to Return as $1,500 Folding Smartphone
Motorola's iconic phone Motorola Razr will return. But this time, it is a $1,500 folding smartphone. Is this phone worth investing in?
The Motorola Razr brings 2000 nostalgia. It is a flip phone and during early 2000, it was so cool to bring a phone that looks like a pressed powder.
Although there are tons of smartphones available in the market, some people are still seeking for old school phones. Last year, Nokia released its iconic phone Nokia 3310. The new Nokia 3310 (2017) was launched in February 2017. It comes with a 2.40-inch display with a resolution of 240 pixels by 320 pixels.
The phone has 16MB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. When it comes to quality of its camera, the Nokia 3310 (2017) packs a 2-megapixel primary camera on the rear.
The new version of Nokia is a Dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) mobile that accepts Micro-SIM and Micro-SIM. Its connectivity options include Bluetooth and FM.
For this year, another iconic phone will be launched. This time, Motorola will bring back its iconic Motorola Razr. According to the latest news, the Motorola Razr is a foldable smartphone, and it will cost $1,500, The Verge reported.
Back in 2016, this model has been rumored will come back with a new version. It all started when the company released a throwback video.
In 2011 and 2012, Motorola tried to revive this model and they teamed up with Verizon for a series of Droid RAZR devices. However, this version has no flip phone design that was part of the original charm.
According to WSJ, Lenovo plans to manufacture over 200,000 of the new RAZRs. The company will team up with Verizon Communication Inc., on selling the new version of the handset. As of now, there is no confirmation whether Motorola Razr will run Android. Most likely, it will run Android but since all of Lenovo and Motorola's current mobile devices do. The source added that the upcoming phone is currently in testing and could be released as soon as February as a Verizon exclusive.
Some rumors suggest that the new version of Razr will have a folding display similar to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy F. Lenovo also participated at CES 2019. The tech company unveiled its new devices including its new Yoga S940 notebook, a device is small and light, at 2.65 lbs. and .48 inches thick. It comes with a suite of AI-driven Smart Assist features; Yoga A940 AiO, an all-in-one desktop; Yoga C730 AMOLED notebook, sports the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, with Windows Hello instant log-in and Windows Ink digital pen capabilities; and Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga.
