Mortal Kombat 11 News and Update: Upcoming Fighting Video Game to Feature Reptile & Skarlet 'Kold War' Skin
Mortal Kombat 11 is set to launch for April 19, 2019. In recent news, Reptile will return in this fighting game and Skarlet gets a "Kold War" skin.
Apparently, Mortal Kombat 11's art director Steve Beran hints that there will another addition to the game's roster, according to DualShocker. The source says that it seems that this revelation is not intentional.
In an interview at "The Reveal," NetherRealm Studios' art director Steve Beran used the character in an example of how tagging fighters might play out. Beran said Mortal Kombat 11's newest features include Towers of Time, a seemingly new mode that is based around the classic tower structure seen in previous Mortal Kombat games. In this mode, players can select from a variety of different modifiers to help you through your battles. In the same interview, he also mentioned a tag team modifier-it allows a player to use different characters to progress through the tower.
As he continued to explain the features in the new mode, he gave this example.
"[Skarlet] comes in, throws a few blows, and then hops back out...Then there's certain things like you can activate Reptile's Acid Ball. It's very nostalgic. You have these helpers, if you will. It's a blast and we're really happy about that," Beran explained.
Apparently, he confirmed that the classic MK character Reptile will join Mortal Kombat 11. This character was first playable in MK2. Although the Beran has given an example, the source claimed that the art director didn't outright tell them that Reptile will be a part of the actually playable roster. However, it seems that lizard-man character will be present in Mortal Kombat 11, there is a chance he'll be appearing as a playable character.
For some gamers, it is not really surprising for them to see Reptile in Mortal Kombat 11 as it is one of the most frequent characters to appear in the Mortal Kombat franchise. He's been a favorite character by many MK fans.
Meanwhile, NetherRealm Studios has unveiled a badass skin for Mortal Kombat 11's blood-scythe wielding fighter Skarlet. Apparently, the skin seems to be "Kold War" theme of Mortal Kombat X.
ComicBook obtained an image of Skarlet in a Soviet-era looking red-leather military officer uniform. She wears complete with some tall leather (or metal) boots. Underneath the boots is the pair of red and brown wrapping or stockings.
The said skin has been revealed for Russian collector's edition of the game (only). The source added there is a chance the suit will be available to the west-it can be via the Komplete Edition or some other type of DLC.
Mortal Kombat 11 is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It will be launched on April 23, priced at $59.99 USD.
The character looks badass. Sadly, according to the source, this skin appears to be exclusive to Russia.
