White Gold season 2 premiered on BBC last Wednesday, March 6. The comedy series is expected to run with six short episodes but fans of the show outside of U.S. are wondering when the series will begin its run on Netflix.

The previous season of White Gold was released on Netflix two months after it aired on BBC. Since the second season is already rolling, this means that Netflix viewers outside of the U.K. will likely have White Gold season 2 by June.

Netflix U.K. users, on the other hand, will be able to access White Gold season 2 by mid-2020. It apparently takes a year before a U.K. broadcast show clears for airing in the region's streaming platform.

The show has not yet received a third season renewal from BBC, however, White Gold writer and director Damon Beesley has some ideas where they can go for season 3. Speaking with Digital Spy, Beesley said that they might explore the popularity of time shares.

"I'm fascinated by the idea of being sold a dream to live on a luxury resort like a rich person for two weeks of the year - plus the selling practices were so bad," Beesley said. "It was all about making money and not caring who you ripped off in the process."

White Gold is about a sales team in an Essex-based window double-glazing showroom. Set in the 1980s, former Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick heads the series as the charismatic sales leader Vincent Swan. The show also stars InBetweeners actors Joe Thomas (as Martin Lavender) and James Buckley (as Brian Fitzpatrick).

But the second season experienced a filming delay following allegations of sexual harassment against Westwick. Four women came forward alleging that the actor violated them on different occasions.

The actor had to fly to Los Angeles to answer the charges. He denied any wrongdoing and was later cleared of the cases filed against him due to lack of substantial evidence and merit.

Beesley said that it was agonizing to wait for almost a year to see how Westwick's cases played out in court before they could work on White Gold again. However, they were satisfied with the results of the investigation to clear the actor's name so work resumed with Westwick back on the set.

Meanwhile, White Gold season 2 episode 3, which airs on Wednesday, March 20, will have Vincent infiltrating a brotherhood. As things always go, there will be some messy consequences.
