'Stranger Things' Season 3 Theories Suggest Billy Is The New Monster
Netflix already dropped Stranger Things Season 3's full trailer, and fans have a lot of feelings about it. The teaser also gives birth to different theories, and the most prominent one is the coming of a new monster using Billy's (Dacre Montgomery) body.
Stranger Things Season 3 trailer introduced a new monster that will bring a fright to Hawkins. However, this creature is not an ordinary beast, as there are theories it can be Billy.
Billy seems to have a new job on Stranger Things Season 3 as a lifeguard at Hawkins Pool. In one of the scenes, he can be seen looking troubled as red and black patches are growing on his skin. Now, the question is where does it come from?
According to Mental Floss, the rats seen running through the warehouse might have something to do with the growth. As rats are known as disease carriers, they might happen to get Billy infected on Stranger Things Season 3.
The theory suggests the rats living underground in Hawkins got into the tunnels that Hopper (David Harbour) and the kids wandered under the pumpkin patch in the previous season. These creatures might now be carrying infectious "Upside Down-borne" illness that would infect Billy on Stranger Things Season 3.
The red and black growth on Billy's arm looks like the slimy vines from the Upside Down. The close-up shot of Billy's eye also shows black tendrils getting across his eyeball resulting in a dilated pupil. This scene only suggests that Billy will be having a transformation on Stranger Things Season 3.
Stranger Things Season 3 trailer also shows the monster growing larger and larger in the hospital hallway. As Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) looks frightened of what he saw, it might mean a human body transforms to be a beast that the video revealed a few seconds later.
Meanwhile, aside from the trailer, Netflix also dropped a new set of Stranger Things Season 3 photos. The snaps give a glimpse to the young heroes of Hawkins as they now grow to be teenagers, per CBR.
Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Noah Schnapp (Will), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) are all back on Stranger Things Season 3 set in the summer of 1985. Their new friend Max (Sadie Sink) also returns to help them fight a new beast from the Upside Down.
Although some of the snaps only showed some scenes from the Stranger Things Season 3 trailer, it gave fans a new look of the kids as they embraced the 1980s' trend and style. The new season will be out on July 4 on Netflix.
