Fans of The CW's Arrow must grab a box of tissues now as Canadian actress Emily Bett Rickards has filmed his last scene as Felicity Megan Smoak, also known as Overwatch.

The sad news came to light when actor Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen / Green Arrow in the superhero television series, posted an emotional message on Twitter as he and the rest of the cast bid farewell to Emily Bett Rickards' well-loved character.

"There are days when actors shed a noble tear in a scene, and there are days when they ugly cry to the point of fogging up their scene partners glasses," the 37-year-old Canadian actor tweeted. "Today was the latter."

Stephen Amell, then, followed that tweet up with a video of his five-year-old daughter - Maverick Alexandra Jean Amell - singing "A Million Dreams" from the 2017 musical drama film The Greatest Showman to Emily Bett Rickards.

Emily Bett Rickards has played Felicity Smoak / Overwatch on Arrow for almost seven years now. She is one of the series regulars along with Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy Rodgers, Colin Donnell, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Susanna Thompson, Kirk Acevedo, and Quentin Lance, to name a few.

In late March, the 27-year-old actress announced her departure from the show stating she would not be returning as Felicity Smoak / Overwatch in the eighth and final season. No official reason has been given to explain why, but it is believed that her contract was up and she opted to move on.

"We've had the pleasure of working with Emily since Season 1, and in those past seven years, she has brought one of TV's most beloved characters to life," Arrow executive producers Greg Berlanti and Beth Schwartz said in a press statement at that time (via TVLine). "And although we're heartbroken to see both Emily and Felicity leave the show, we're completely supportive of Emily and her future endeavors. She will always have a family at Arrow."

Meanwhile, the upcoming episode of Arrow Season 7 will see Laurel Lance / Black Siren (Katie Cassidy Rodgers) teaming up with an old criminal acquaintance, Shadow Thief (Carmel Amit), to go on a crime spree around Star City.

While Dinah Drake / Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy) aims to bring Laurel Lance / Black Siren in, Felicity Smoak / Overwatch refuses to give up on her friend and tries everything to get through to her and even summons Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) for help.  However, Laurel Lance / Black Siren rebuffs all her efforts - forcing the former friends to face off against each other.

Arrow Season 7 Episode 18, titled "Lost Canary," airs on Monday, April 15 at 9:00 p.m. EST on The CW.
