Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's first-born child is going to be named Diana, after the prince's mother. This is what bookmakers firmly believe the Royals will call their baby if the Duchess of Sussex will be giving birth to a girl.

Bets from punters have received a massive surge on this favorite baby name as the day of the birth draws closer, as per Express. Other top name choices also include Elizabeth, Victoria, Alice, and Grace.

Punters have also placed their bets on names like James and Arthur if Markle is going to have a baby boy although Coral spokesperson Harry Aitkenhead told the news outlet that they have been receiving more bets for girls' names than boys for Baby Sussex.

However, choosing Diana as the baby's first name might be problematic for the baby. Thus, other royal watchers think this would be the perfect choice for a second name.

"The choice of Diana as a first name would place a lot of pressure on the royal baby, as the press would constantly compare her to her famous grandmother," said royal historian Carolyn Harris, as per NOLA.

The royals normally chose names to honor prominent members of the family. Prince William and Kate Middleton have already chosen Diana and Elizabeth for their second child, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, who was born to House Cambridge in 2015.

According to the Telegraph, since Prince Harry and his wife are progressive-thinking royals, it's also possible that they may decide against tradition in naming their first baby. Markle may also choose to honor her American roots, and there is more freedom from royal protocols for House Sussex since Baby Sussex is the seventh in line to the throne.

The child will unlikely become queen or king and won't be constricted by the protocols. Baby Sussex will also not be called a princess or prince. Instead, the child's royal title will be as Earl.

The royal couple has announced that the birth of their child will not be a public spectacle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be expected to pose for the camera hours after the baby's arrival as opposed to the birth of the Cambridge children. They said that they would celebrate the baby's arrival in private and then chose a more appropriate time later on to announce the baby's birth details.

Markle's due date is expected to be in late April or early May. Speculations are that the child's birthday will fall before May 7.
