Rapper Snoop Dogg is going to get arrested on Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 22. He was spotted filming his scenes in New York, and now it can finally be revealed what role the rapper is playing in the episode set to air on Thursday, May 2.

According to the episode synopsis, Snoop Dogg will play a recording artist in Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 22. His character is being accused of assaulting the wife of another rapper played by guest star Orlando Jones.

During the first week of April, Snoop Dogg was working on the New York set of Law & Order: SVU season 20. As reported by Metro, the rapper photographed with his hands behind his back and being whisked away by Mariska Hargitay's character, Det. Olivia Benson.

During the filming's break, Snoop Dogg was seen taking photos and goofing around with the cast, including his long-time buddy Ice-T (as Odafin Tutuola). Aside from being known as hip hop legends, the two stars worked together on movies like The Wrecking Crew and Urban Menace.

Meanwhile Ice-T's character's storyline in Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 22 has him off a crucial case because the suspect has ties to his family. It is unclear what Fin's next plan is because this might put his job on the line.

But then again, NBC has recently renewed Law & Order: SVU for a record-breaking season 21. Ice-T and Hargitay are expected to be back for the 2019-2020 season. The two are the show's long-standing cast members, with Hargitay signing on since the very beginning and Ice-T coming aboard since season 2.

"The longevity and continued success of SVU is a testament not only to the show's powerful storytelling and ability to connect with viewers but to its necessity," Hargitay said in a statement announcing the renewal, as per The Hollywood Reporter. "We have told important stories for 20 years, and we will continue to tell them."

However, Philip Winchester (as Peter Stone) has confirmed he's not joining Law & Order: SVU season 21 any longer. The actor tweeted that the journey will end for him and his character in this current season.

Law & Order: SVU airs Thursday at 10:00 p.m. on NBC and also stars Kelli Giddish (as Amanda Rollins) and Peter Scanavino (as Dominick Carisi). The show still has four episodes left to air before it closes season 20 with 24 episodes on May 16.
