Fox confirmed that Prison Break Season 6 in January 2018. However, the network has kept mum about the details of the forthcoming sixth installment. The cast and crew, reportedly, started filming some scenes already. However, the operations were put into a half following Fox Studios and Disney's decision to merge.
The good thing is, the show has started filming again and devoted fans of the show cannot wait for the Prison Break Season 6 premiere. Previous reports claimed that the imminent new installment is going to be different from the first five seasons. It is said that a new format will be introduced in the show.
Other spoilers even suggested that Prison Break Season 6 is going to have a time jump to complete the plot line of the series. "It is going to be a new iteration of the show," Michael Thorn, who is the president of Fox Network's entertainment division, divulged. He added that Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell is going to return to portray their respective roles as Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burros.
Series writer Scheuring, also, revealed that the first episode of Prison Break Season 6 would feature the return of the heroes to an iconic scene where it all started. "If you must know, I finished the 601 script," he wrote in a tweet, confirming that he already finished writing the script of the sixth installment's premiere episode. "We're going back to the beginning. Literally the very first frames," he went on.
Speculations suggested that the pilot episode of Prison Break Season 6 would feature Michael getting a new tattoo, probably the prison layout. It is said that Michael would need that tattoo to help his brother, Lincoln, get out of the prison. Fans would see Michael and Lincoln together again inside the same tattoo parlor.
Fox has not yet announced the official release date of the imminent new installment. However, it has been revealed that the show is still filming for the sixth installment's episodes.
