'Arrow' Season 8 Open To Emily Bett Rickards Returning

Emily Bett Rickards may have said her goodbyes to her character Felicity Smoak and the cast of Arrow season 7 in the penultimate episode of the most recent installment. However, the president of The CW, Mark Pedowitz, isn't closing the doors on the actress' return to the series in Arrow season 8.
Pedowitz said in an interview with TV Line that if Rickards has an available time in her schedule then she can still come back Arrow season 8. Also, if the showrunners are able to find a way to have her character be a guest in an episode, Pedowitz said that The CW "would love to have" Rickards back.
The actress' final episode on Arrow season 7 was quite emotional. It ended with Felicity in a flash forward scene showing the character as an older person.
Rickards joined Arrow in the third season as a guest cast. She was introduced as the main IT expert working for the billionaire Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell). Felicity eventually became the wife of Oliver.
Meanwhile, The CW renewed Arrow season 8 last April for one last short run in the 2019-2020 slate. The show will deliver the highly anticipated "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover with Supergirl, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
With only 10 episodes to go in its final run, fans of the series are expecting that Arrow season 8 will go out with a bang. The CW has actually released the synopsis of what fans can expect in the upcoming installment.
As per We Got This Covered, Oliver will have his most challenging battle in the upcoming season. However, the synopsis did not spell out whom he will be up against as the main villain of Arrow season 8 has not yet been named. The events on the show, however, could put the "multiverse hanging in the balance."
The CW has also not yet made any announcements on when Arrow season 8 will premiere. Ideally, however, the show is its fall line-up and will likely start its run in late September or early October.
Arrow also stars David Ramsey as John Diggle, Colton Haynes as Ron Harper, Rick Gonzales as Rene Ramirez, Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance and Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt. The show airs every Wednesday night.
