Deontay Wilder declared right after defeating Brazilian boxer Dominic Breazeale in New York and securing his WBC title that he is going to fight the undefeated heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, this year. But, it appears that the much-awaited bout between two ferocious fighters is not going to happen anytime soon. Instead, boxing fans are going to witness a rematch between the WBC champ and the Gypsy King Tyson Fury next year.

After brutally dominating a devastating one-round fight against Breazeale and after declaring that he is going to go after Anthony Joshua, fans are hoping that they will see Wilder in the ring again this year with another brutal fistfight match against an equally great boxer. But, it appears that Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearns is not optimistic about the Wilder-Joshua fight. According to Hearns, he called Luis Ortiz' camp and has confirmed that Ortiz is scheduled to fight Deontay Wilder for a rematch in Fall.

Hearn admitted that he was impressed with Deontay Wilder's performance and boxing skills. The promoter also said that delaying the fight could increase the money available for the two boxing champions like it did to Manny Pacquaio and Floyd Mayweather. Additionally, Eddie Hearn revealed that he was willing to sit down and negotiate with the camp of Deontay Wilder, however, all current negotiations are one-sided for now.

While the much-awaited fight is not yet going to happen, a possible Wilder-Fury rematch is set to happen next year. It can be recalled that the two heavyweight boxers were engaged in a thrilling draw last December 2018. Tyson Fury survived a couple of knockdowns during the fight. After the fight, the parties could not agree with the terms so Fury took Tom Schwarz while Deontay Wilder fought and abolished Breazeale.

But major developments recently surfaced and according to the Gypsy King, the much-awaited rematch will happen in the Spring of 2020. In one of his interviews, Tyson Fury revealed that the Wilder-Fury fight will most likely happen in March or April next year. He added that he will be in another two more fights before the scheduled fight with Wilder to be active.

Further, Tyson Fury shared that Deontay Wilder's camp and his camp were so close to signing a rematch before. Both parties had their contracts and they were on the brink of agreeing to the terms. But, ESPN offered him a deal he could not refuse so he dropped the supposed Wilder rematch that should have happened this May 2019.
