Song Joong Ki: Song Hye Kyo's Husband Says Jang Dong Gun Calms Him Down, Lands A New Role
Many fans are, now, thrilled about the upcoming return of Song Joong Ki to the small screens after almost a year of being away from the limelight. The husband of Song Hye Kyo will star in a new epic-fantasy drama series that would be aired on tvN. Recently, the 33-year-old Hallyu superstar revealed some details about Arthdal Chronicles.
Avid followers of Song Joong Ki were treated with sneak-peek photos of Arthdal Chronicles last week. The snaps featured Eun Seom, who is the character of Song Hye Kyo's better half, and Tae Gon, who is portrayed by Jang Dong Gun. Eun Seom was seen watching Tae Gon from a distance.
"This is an important scene in 'Arthdal Chronicles' where the bravest warrior in Arthdal, Tae Gon, and Eun Seom, a foreigner in Arthdal, encounter each other for the first time," a source said about the photos of Song Joong Ki and Jang Don Gun's characters in the upcoming Arthdal Chronicles series. "Please look forward to how the two completely opposite men and their fates unfold in the ancient civilization of Arthdal," the insider went on.
The same tipster revealed that Song Joong Ki and Jang Dong Gun do not talk that much on the set of Arthdal Chronicles. Despite this, the husband of Song Hye Kyo and his co-star were able to finish some of the most important scenes flawlessly.
At a press conference for Arthdal Chronicles on Tuesday, Song Joong Ki shared that seeing Jang Dong Gun calms him down. Song Hye Kyo's real-life partner revealed that he feels so pressured filming every scene of the imminent tvN drama series.
"It would be a lie to say I don't feel pressured. Firstly, Jang Dong Gun was a big factor in taking some of the burden away," Song Joong Ki stated. "We were friendly with each other beforehand, but through this project, we saw each other every day and prepared. That strength and reality was there simply because he was on set," the husband of Song Hye Kyo added.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki is set to do another epic project along with a new leading lady, Kim Tae Ri. The pair will lead a science fiction film, with a working title The Seungri, together. The upcoming movie will center on the journey of astronauts visiting multiple planets out of the Solar System.
Cho Seong Hee will direct the forthcoming movie with a budget of approximately 4.2 million USD. Hee was, also, the man behind A Werewolf Boy, and Phantom Detective. Should things push through, this will be a reunion project of Cho Seong Hee and Song Joong Ki.
Arthdal Chronicles is set to premiere on June 1 on tvN and Netflix. Stay tuned to Business Times for the latest news and updates about Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo.
