'Game Of Thrones' Prequel: 3 Possible Plotlines HBO Can Explore For Other Spinoffs
Several Game of Thrones prequels are said to be in the works, although HBO has yet to confirm what other spinoffs will explore. George R.R. Martin, who is the main brain behind the critically-acclaimed and most successful show in the network's history, said there are two other shows in development. So, here are the three possible plotlines that may delve into the world of A Song of Ice and Fire and beyond.
Bloodmoon or The Long Night
After Game of Thrones Season 8 Finale, HBO programming president Casey Bloys confirmed there would be a prequel in the works. Comic Book reported its production is set to begin this month and would have a working title Bloodmoon.
However, Martin suggested it could be called The Long Night, which was the title of the battle of Winterfell in Season 8 Episode 3. But he later reclaimed his statement, saying it has no official title yet. Game of Thrones prequel is reportedly about the Night King and his army of the dead's arrival in Westeros to bring chaos and terror.
Screen Rant added Game of Thrones prequel might also explore Aegon's Conquest that took place about 300 years ago before the battle of the Iron Throne happened. The original series had been referencing this plotline many times so that it might be possible fans would see his complete story.
To recall, in Game of Thrones Season 2, Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance) used Aegon's Conquest as a reference when he spoke from within the ruins of Harrenhal when it got burnt because of Aegon and his sisters' dragon. The show's political structure was even formed when Aegon I Targaryen successfully ruled the Seven Kingdoms. HBO also has a lot of references from A World of Ice & Fire to Fire & Blood to base Aegon's Conquest prequel.
The Wall kept the Seven Kingdoms from the threats in the North until the Night King and the ice dragon Viserion brought it down. As there is said to be a great story of how it was built, from the Bran the Builder with the help of the Children of the Forest to giants, Game of Thrones prequel can explore its history.
The Children of the Forest is known as the White Walkers' enemy. So, they probably helped Bran the Builder to build The Wall. However, there are questions about how that conflict involved the ancestral founder of House Stark and the giants.
