Melania Likened To Jackie O By Husband Donald Trump, FLOTUS Called ‘It’
Melania was recently likened to the former First Lady Jackie Onassis by her husband Donald Trump, but was referred to as "It."
The United States President Donald Trump had proudly spoken of his wife, the First Lady, as a present-day "Jackie O," but went on to refer to her as "It." He had said the word while speaking of putting new colors on the presidential Air Force One, which had been originally "baby blue," a choice made by the former First Lady Onassis.
As a new version is bound to come out in 2024, the president shared his plans, calling into the show Fox & Friends. A video-taped segment of that was then shared by Talking Points Memo. Trump then proceeded to talk of his plans to have the plane repainted in a navy hue with a red stripe, in place of the old gold stripe.
And he was also said to have declared that, while there had been a "Jackie O" then, there was also now today's Jackie O, comparing the two ladies. He declared, "It's called Melania."
Then he went on to share that the new name for the plane would be "Melania T."
He was also not shy to say that "by the way" the people "love her," referring to the First Lady Melania. He also added that, while his wife got "no credit" from media people, Melania did get that, he believed, "from the people."
Earlier on, there had been some reports that had touted Melania as another Onassis. It was observed that the former had seemed to channel the latter in the way she dressed. This was especially so when Melania had worn a head scarf for her trip back home to Washington from Ireland.
Onassis had been fond of wearing the same, thus the recent comparison. It was not the only time though that this likeness in dressing had been observed.
The clothes that Melania wore to Trump's 2017 presidential inauguration had been along the same design lines as that which Onassis had worn at her own husband's inauguration some 56 years back.
During her husband's time, Melania's choice had been a baby blue Ralph Lauren ensemble that featured a short jacket which sported three-quarter sleeves, which she donned over a turtleneck outfit of matching color and fabric.
As for Onassis, then Kennedy, she had chosen an Oleg Cassini for former President John F. Kennedy's ceremony.
In an interview way back in 1991, Melania had spoken of choosing to take on a "traditional" style, something along the lines of "Betty Ford" or of "Jackie Kennedy," if she the man she married would ever get to become the top White House guy.
