Jessica Jones' (Krysten Ritter) story officially ended after Netflix dropped the entire Season 3 episodes. As the streaming service puts all of Marvel series to an end, will there still be a chance for Jessica Jones Season 4?

Netflix already announced there would be no Jessica Jones Season 4 after the cancellation of other Marvel Original shows. Before the series ended, the network already canceled The Punisher, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.

"We have decided that the upcoming third season will also be the final season for Marvel's Jessica Jones," Netflix said in a statement. "We are grateful to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, star Krysten Ritter, and the entire cast and crew, for three incredible seasons of this groundbreaking series, which was recognized by the Peabody Awards among many others."

With the coming of Disney's, which owned the Marvel franchise, own streaming platform Disney+, some fans expect Jessica Jones Season 4 may be released there. However, Express.co.uk noted any of these canceled Marvel characters couldn't appear in other series or films that are not on Netflix for at least two years after cancellation due to a contract clause.

So, if there will be Jessica Jones Season 4, it may come to fruition in 2022. Other Marvel series, on the other hand, may return in 2021.

Ritter also bid her official goodbye to the series when she posted a photo of the show's final table-read on Instagram. She revealed it had been a dream to play Jessica's character along with the show's "amazing cast and the best crew" for the past five years. The 37-year-old actress also thanked the "best fans" they got and proud of how they completed her character's journey.

Talking about the series, Ritter told Collider she knew Season 3 would be the final outing of the series. Rosenberg was about to leave the show, and because Jessica Jones was so her and its creator, it couldn't continue without her. Does it mean there would be no Jessica Jones Season 4?

Ritter and Rosenberg had to make sure Jessica's storyline would end, and her journey would be completed in true to her character's fashion. Although three seasons seemed short for fans, they had told so many stories due to its writing style, covering a lot of ground.

Ritter also felt like they made a satisfying conclusion to the show's story. They kept it ambiguous and left her in a place where there were hopes and ideas of where she would be going next. So, it looks like fans have to wait if Disney will continue Jessica's journey in Jessica Jones Season 4.
