The Porsche 911 Turbo will be part of the new 922-generation of luxury cars. It is expected to hit the market later this year, and it has a lot of rumors coming into it. The most interesting of which claims that the car will have an engine that could top 600-horsepower.

The current generation 911 Turbo has a twin-turbocharged flat six engine. The Turbo trim has 540-horsepower, while the Turbo S one has 580-horsepower. Given the fact that the upcoming 911 Turbo is built on the 922 platform, it is certainly a possibility that the upcoming car's engine can reach 600-horsepower. That is a massive amount of power, which is also expected to be matched by an equally impressive price tag.

The 922-generation boasts an aluminum-intensive underpinnings. This particular feature is expected to be present in the regular 911 Turbo. An all-wheel drive will come standard. Porsche's new eight-speed PDK transmission, which has found its way to a number of new models, is also expected to be a standard for the new 911 Turbo.

Porsche's 911 line is an iconic brand. Add on top of that the Turbo trim, and it is easily one of the most powerful machine the company has ever built. Since the introduction of the Turbo brand in 1975, it has consistently delivered, and will continue to do so in future years. It has stood the test of time, despite facing some of the most intense rivals from companies like Ferrari.

As for its performance, a number of tests with the new Porsche 911 Turbo is expected to top the current generation ones. Porsche has yet to reveal the official specs sheet or test data it has for the upcoming car, but fans positive that it will be just as impressive as previous models. The current generation 911 Turbo already has an impressive top speed, and with a massive engine expected to be around 600-horsepower, the next generation car is sure to topple it. With the Turbo and Turbo S trims, the new Porsche 911 is sure to beat most of its rivals in the market.

As for its price tag, the Porsche 911 Turbo is not exactly known for affordability. The current generation Porsche 911 costs about $160,000, while the one with the Turbo S upgrades costs about $191,000. With all the upgrades and new features expected to be on the next-generation Porsche 911 Turbo, it will come as no surprise if it breaches the $200,000 price point.
