A lot of people wanted to visit France. This country in Europe has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, having about 82 million tourists every year.

Tourists want to experience France's sophisticated culture, exquisite cuisine, fine wines, and, of course, romantic ambiance. You can find the City of Love here -- Paris. So, from the culture cities to the countryside, here are the five best places to visit when you're in France.

Paris & Versailles

France's capital, Paris, has been known for its architectural masterpieces. The most famous examples of the city's work of art are the Eiffel Tower and the Notre-Dame Cathedral.

Here, you can also find the Louvre, one of Paris' top museums, which holds the exceptional collection of fine arts. Tourists can also enjoy shopping at the bookshops in the Latin Quarter, strolling at the Champs- Elysées, and sightseeing from the sidewalk café terrace on the Boulevard Saint-Germain-de-Prés.

Provence

This charming countryside in France lies around the Mediterranean sun. It carries rugged and earthy vibes compared to the city of Paris and northern France.

Its hills are covered with small farms' patchwork, olive groves, sunflower, and lavender fields. You will wake up with the smell of fresh herbs, like rosemary, sage, and thyme, that they use in local cuisine, per Planetware.

Strasbourg

Strasbourg is the capital city of the Alsace region, located right on the border of France and Germany. This city houses the seat of the European Parliament and other vital institutions, like the European Court of Human Rights and the Council of Europe.

According to Touropia, Grande Île, Strasbourg's historic center, is the reason why this city is the best place to visit in France. Here, you can find different museums, shops, cafes, and other attractions, like the Gothic cathedral that has intricate carvings and the 300-year-old astrological clock.

Loire Valley

Loire Valley holds great scenery, splendid chateaux, pictographic vineyard, and historic villages, making it a popular destination in France. This place stretches about 280 km along the Loire River, while it is also twisting and turning through some of France's picturesque villages and stunning castles.

Some of the famous chateaux here are Chambord, Amboise, Rivau, Chinon, and Chenonceau. Loire Valley holds a lot of wineries that offer tours and wine tastings.

Luberon

If you want to socialize with the common people of France, Luberon is the best place to be. This place in the south of France is a haven for the French society and other American and British visitors, who come to the city during summer to experience life in these villages.

Luberon became a tourist destination after Peter Mayle published a book about his life in this massif in central Provence. With its lush forests, lavender fields, farmers markets, and colorfully painted houses, this place is a tourist spot.
