One of the most unexpected transfers during the first day of the NBA free agency was that of Kevin Durant. While most of the NBA world was on their smartphones and gadgets, Steve Kerr was detached to the world. And, it is interesting to know how he discovered that Kevin Durant is no longer with the Golden State Warriors.

According to a report, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors was in Hawaii and was spending some quality time on rest and recreation when the news broke out that Kevin Durant was leaving the Dubs. Steve Kerr learned about the news while he was on the beach. Jackie MacMullan of ESPN shared that the three-time NBA champion head coach was on his beach chair reading the book titled "Billion Dollar Whale," which tells the true story of a social climber who pulled off one of the most unbelievable heists in financial history.

Steve Kerr, who is the Assistant Coach for Team USA, intentionally left his smartphone in his hotel room despite that it was July 1 and the start of the NBA free agency frenzy. For a moment, he was lost in his book then, a man around 30 feet away from the GSW head coach, who did not recognize him suddenly said that KD is going to Brooklyn. That is the way the three-time NBA champion head coach learned that one of his players left them and moved to another team.

Although the Golden State Warriors lost Kevin Durant, the team was able to retain the service of Draymond Green who had a feud with Kevin Durant last November during their game against the Los Angeles Clippers. That incident sent the Internet into frenzy especially that they are some of the best players that the Warriors have at the time. In his recent interview with Rachel Nichols of ESPN, Green revealed some details about his relationship with his former teammate.

According to him, he has already talked to Durant, whom he called his brother. He revealed that he has no ill will towards the NBA superstar and his former teammate. He also disclosed that he has no idea which way Kevin Durant would lean with his decision. Green added that the moment he found out Durant was moving to Brooklyn Nets was during the same time everybody else found out about it.
