Jada Pinkett, Will Smith Divorce Rumors: Actress Allegedly Didn’t Wearing Wedding Ring On TV To Make A Statement
Wedding rings are very important in a married couple’s life. It is not only something that seals the marriage, but it is also a reminder that you have promised to love someone for the rest of your life.
So what happens when a married person stops wearing his or her wedding ring? Generally, it means that the marriage didn’t work out. However, that is not the only reason for not wearing the ring -- some may have lost it, it was broken, they gained or lost weight that the ring doesn’t fit anymore, etc.
But for Jada Pinkett Smith, National Enquirer claims that she didn’t wear her wedding ring to make a statement. “For her to make an appearance without it is worrying. Jada and Will have been living separate lives for a while now, and she’s taking it further by removing her ring,” the source of the tabloid alleged.
If this is true, it is very shocking and upsetting since Jada Pinkett and Will Smith have been married for 22 years, which is a very rare accomplishment in Hollywood. Fortunately, Gossip Cop debunked this story, stating that there is no truth to the claims.
The site pointed out that Jada Pinkett Smith had never religiously worn her wedding ring since the beginning of her marriage with Will Smith, so seeing her not wearing it is not a big deal at all. It is also worth noting that the 47-year-old actress, comedian, singer-songwriter, screenwriter, and businesswoman is not the only one who doesn’t wear her wedding ring, Will doesn’t wear his either!
It seems that the couple doesn’t care about wearing their wedding ring or not. They have been together for over two decades, so their relationship is stable enough that wearing a ring is not something they are keen about.
If Jada Pinkett and Will Smith are heading to Splitsville, they will not keep it from the public. The couple is known for being open about their relationship, and they are the first one to admit that their marriage is not perfect.
"What was really important about Will and I doing that show together — two things — first of all was to get rid of the idea that people in the public eye have perfect relationships," Jada Pinkett said during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. "We were kind of sick of living up to that. We were really sick of it."
