"Red Dead Redemption 2" PC release is one of the favorite subjects of discussion among fans and PC gamers. Rumors, leaks, and speculations about the topic have occasionally popped up on the Internet igniting the hope that Rockstar Games might one day port the cowboy-themed game into PC. But, a new claim about Take-Two Interactive halting the PC emulation project "Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster" sparked new flames of hope that the "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC release schedule might be near.

Modder Damneddev was behind the successful "Red Dead Redemption: Damned Enhancement Project." In August, we reported that the team was working on "Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster." It utilizes a direct modification of RPCS3/Xenia or emulated PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 version of the game.

But, it appears that Take-Two Interactive is trying to shut the "Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster" down at the moment. Because of this, the modder decided to totally put on hold the development of the project and promised to provide a video update soon. Damneddev cryptically shared the details on GTA Forums thread and the fact that they are not happy with the current situation.

The more elaborate reason behind the abrupt halt of "Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster" was soon revealed when another user pressed for more explanation. The modder simply said that the user knows who controls Rockstar Games and who has a hand for everything. Although the modder did not directly say that Take-Two Interactive was behind the sudden halt of the project, the implication is there.

This is not actually the first time that a fan-made remaster was shut down and will not most likely be the last. What makes this report interesting is the timing. Recently several pieces of evidence suggesting "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC release started to mount. It appears that Take-Two Interactive would not want a free "Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster" possibly taking away any of the company's noise and fame.

A few days ago, we reported about new data mined details pointing to the existence of "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC release. The data miner uncovered PC settings of the popular cowboy-themed title from Rockstar Games. While the datamined files do not directly state that "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC release is happening soon, it somehow underlined the fact that Rockstar is working on the PC port of the game.

"Red Dead Redemption" is available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The "Red Dead Redemption 2" was released in 2018 and playable on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Fans are hoping that "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC Release will be announced soon.
