Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo shocked their devoted followers with a divorce announcement.  The Descendants of the Sun stars had been married for less than two years before, finally, calling it quits. Now, recent reports suggested that Joong Ki and Hye Kyo appear to be unaffected by their split.

Many fans still could not believe that the Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo ship sunk already. The Hallyu superstars first sparked romance rumors while they were filming the 2016 hit television series titled Descendants of the Sun. Initially, the two South Korean stars denied the speculations saying that there is something romantic happening between them.

On July 5, 2017, the respective agencies of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo released a joint statement announcing their wedding plans. "A marriage is not only a private matter but also a meeting between two families, so it was a delicate situation in many ways. There was no choice but to be cautious prior to marriage, and so we are at last conveying this message. We ask for everyone's understanding," the statement read, hinting couple's plan to tie the knot in October of the same year.

True enough, the A-list stars exchanged their wedding vows in a star-studded event on October 31, 2017, in Shilla Hotel in Seoul City, South Korea. Blossom Entertainment and ‎United Artists Agency even shared prenup photos taken in San Francisco in September 2017. "Thank you so much for your sincere understanding and interest and also for blessing us with loving hearts," Song Hye Kyo wrote in an Instagram post that featured a photo of her and then-husband Song Joong Ki.

In June 27, 2019, Song Joong Ki confirmed that he filed for divorce from Song Hye Kyo. The Arthdal Chronicles actor did not reveal the primary reason behind his decision to split from his then-wife. However, Hye Kyo's agency claimed that "differences in personality" made them decide to break up.

Less than a month since the filing, the Seoul Family Court granted the divorce of the Song-Song pair. While most fans expected Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo to mourn with them because of their failed marriage, recent reports suggested that the two seemed unaffected by their recent split. In fact, Hye Kyo was all smiles during the New York Fashion Week.

The 37-year-old Full House actress made her first fashion week appearance in The Big Apple. Song Hye Kyo was seen wearing a stunning white suit at Ralph Lauren's Fall 2019 show. The ex-wife of Song Joong Ki even had a short interview with Harper's BAZAAR Korea, where she expressed her excitement about the collections.

Not long ago, Song Joong Ki was even sighted having fun with The Hobbit Richard Armitage in an unnamed restaurant. Photos of the former lover of Song Hye Kyo, who donned a white printed short and green-colored cap at the time, effortlessly made rounds online. The 33-year-old actor also posed with an identified woman in one photo.

Netizens have started making nasty comments on the ex-couple's respective snaps. While some are saying that Song Hye Kyo looks different after her divorce, others claimed that Song Joong Ki is no longer popular after breaking up with the Encounter actress.

Despite the sour remarks from their critics, the ex-couple chose not to talk about their divorce up until now. Joong Ki, at the moment, is working on his upcoming new film called Victory while Hye Kyo took a break from filming her imminent new projects to focus on herself following their split.
