After a long hiatus, fans will finally see the hilarious duo of Rick and Morty in Rick and Morty Season 4 later this year. So, what does the new season entail? Will the Evil Morty return this time? A lot of questions are surrounding the upcoming season, and here is everything we know so far.

As Season 3 ended without any loose end, Season 4 can begin with a clean slate. In an interview with co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, via Thrillist, they revealed the latest installment would feature more "serialized plotlines" with "strong episodic episodes."

They also said at the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that the new season would explore time travel. At the same event, it was also revealed Taika Watiti would voice an alien named Glootie, who also happens to be an app developer.

Also, Adult Swim dropped a few promo images for Rick and Morty Season 4. In one snap, Rick could be seen walking through an alien-like field of wheat. There is also another one where he seemed to be battling against a group of reptilian cyborgs.

In a post on Instagram, Roiland also teased a possible "Interdimensional Cable 3" episode with the caption "Idc 3 (maybe)." So far, the adult animated series had featured two Interdimensional Cable episodes in both Episodes 8 of Seasons 1 and 2. Although Season 3 had no IDC episode, it had IDC-adjacent that was also featured in Episode 8.

If the new season would indeed have an IDC episode, it might also happen in Episode 8, per CinemaBlend. Harmond, on the other hand, teased the arrival of some Meeseeks, popping up here and there. It remained to be seen what these blue guys would do in the series, but it might have a connection to Jerry's golf swing.

There are also rumors about Evil Morty's return in Rick and Morty Season 4. In the show's tweet, it heavily hinted the character's comeback with a photo that showed a lot of Morty's faces, but there was a distinctive one that had red and blue cords falling from his eyes. "Black and white and dread all over," the snap's caption read.

So, what does the Evil Morty will do in the new season? After he got elected as the new president of the Citadel of Ricks, he killed all the Ricks in his cabinet, although those who agreed to work with him were saved. If he ever returns, Rick and Morty have a lot of work to do with him. Rick and Morty Season 4 is set to be out in November on Adult Swim.
