Barcelona captain Lionel Messi recently bares his frustration at Barca's failed bid to re-acquire Neymar. The 32 years old Argentine footballer shares his doubts on his team's pursuit for his former teammate. He also reveals the Brazilian's desperation to come home to Camp Nou after leaving the team a couple of years ago.

Lionel Messi expresses his disappointment at his team's failed attempt to re-sign Neymar this summer. The Argentine football superstar also admits that he is not sure if Barca did everything it can to sign the 27 years old Brazilian footballer. Messi also insists that he has no desire to leave Camp Nou despite reports that he is free to leave at the end of the season.

In an exclusive interview with Sport, Lionel Messi was asked if he wanted Neymar to join him playing for Barcelona once again. According to the Argentine footballer, he would love to have the Brazilian footballer back. He also states he understands those who are not in favor of Neymar's return considering what has happened and how he has left.

However, Lionel Messi underlines that in the sporting level, he thinks Neymar is one of the best football players in the world and to have him back on Barcelona would boost the team's chances of hitting its objectives. Messi was also asked if he thinks Blaugrana did everything to sign the Brazilian footballer. The 32 years old captain answers that he has no idea since he has limited information on the details of the negotiations.

Neymar joined PSG a couple of years ago for one of the biggest deals in the history of football. His departure from Barcelona was acrimonious but his time with Paris Saint Germain has been a troublesome one. While PSG keeps on dominating the domestic football scene, it struggles in the Champions League.

Paris Saint Germain failed to get past the quarter-final stage of the elite club competition in Europe. Neymar, on the other hand, is at the center of multiple controversies, which includes an altercation with a fan after suffering from a defeat against Rennes in the French Cup's final last season. The incident caused the 27 years old footballer a heavy fine and suspension.

Additionally, Neymar has had several falling out with some of the high ranking officials of the team. He engineered his return to Camp Nou last summer but the deal never pushed through because of various issues. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi is being rumored to leave Barcelona at the end of the season.

According to Barcelona President Joseph Bartomeu, the Argentine football superstar can leave freely. But Lionel Messi, during the interview, insists that he will stay with Barcelona for as long as possible considering that the team continues to win.
