The showrunners and heads of Chicago Fire Season 8 are all-out hinting that the premiere of the new season will be very "brutal" and devastating. And this is quite fitting considering how the previous season ended things for the show.
In the last few moments of Chicago Fire Season 7, a boiler is about to explode inside the factory that the Firehouse 51 department is managing. Inside the premises, the firefighters and paramedics of the department. So, when they fail to contain the fire and prevent the explosion, there will certainly be casualties.
This huge cliffhanger, along with the ominous hints for the new season, places the characters in a critical situation. As a result, many fans are convinced that someone will die when Season 8 premieres.
It is also quite troubling how the first episode title goes. As it happened, it is titled, Sacred Ground. And as far as firefighters are concerned, this phrase is not pleasant to hear or to read since it largely depicts the area where most people died in saving the lives of others.
Fansided via One Chicago Center has reiterated these points ahead of the premiere of Chicago Fire Season 8. But even so, some fans are still convinced that this might just be a huge "teaser" to further increase the hype among the fans. And if it is truly that way, then it's working well as fans are now much more eager to witness the events that follow after the finale.
Aside from the possible loss that they would incur in the next season, Deadline also revealed that the Firehouse 51 department is also expanding in terms of manpower. This is because a new firefighter will arrive to join the department.
Per the producer's statements, the "development" of the new season will bring Shadowhunter star, Alberto Rosende, in to play the role of Blake Gallo. His character will be a recurring role on Chicago Fire Season 8. So, this could mean that he will be playing an integral role in the upcoming plot.
These revelations and predictions about the cast members' standings have been great teasers for the fans. But TV Line has learned that the show is about to offer more once it premieres on NBC.
It has been unveiled that on the fourth episode of the new season, the long-teased "mega" #OneChicago crossover will finally happen. The crossover will feature all One Chicago shows: Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med.
The whole One Chicago block will arrive starting with Med to be followed by Fire and P.D. on September 25, on NBC.
