Alexis Sanchez believes that he lacked game time at Manchester United, as he compared his situation to Romelu Lukaku.

In the summer, both Sanchez and Lukaku moved to Inter Milan from United, with the former on a season-long loan and the latter in a permanent deal worth around £74 million.

Both players recently spoke with ESPN in which they revealed the reason why it didn't work out for them at United. According to Sanchez, he needed more game time and that there were too many changes at the club.

Sanchez's career at United lasted 18 months after a move from Arsenal last year, but he only managed three league goals.

"Lukaku and I trained very well," said Sanchez. "But we needed to play more in games to get to our best.

"It wasn't the right time for us to be at Manchester. Too many changes. When you change that much, it's tough."

Now both men are now under the management of former Premier League champ Antonio Conte. Sanchez believes that Inter Milan is the perfect environment for him to train again to remind everybody that he was once known as one of the most dangerous attackers in the Premier League.

Lukaku, who has formed a strong friendship with Sanchez, started strong with the Italian club, netting in the club's first two games of the Serie A season. He sported the same energy into the international break, opening the scoring in the UEFA 2020 European Championship qualifying win for Belgium over Scotland with an impressive goal:

Fans believe that Lukaku will find it easy rediscovering his form at Inter, while for Sanchez, it may take a while to bounce back. Before moving to Old Trafford from Arsenal last year, Sanchez was considered one of the best players in the Premier League - the reason why his regression came as a shock to many fans.

Many fans believe that Conte is a more fitting manager for both Sanchez and Lukaku. The Italian possesses flexibility and acumen, and he has established himself as one of the best motivators in the league. Conte's energy and skills should ignite the fire that both Sanchez and Lukaku once had.
